Does reformating a hard drive also uninstall Windows?
I want to delete as much private data as possible off of my computer before I resell it, but I don’t have the Windows CD-ROM anymore. If I just reformat C-drive, will Windows still be on my computer?
When you format your hard drive you will complete wipe the hard drive clean. There will be nothing left.
I would suggest that you use windows explorer and go through each file folder and delete personal data one file at a time.
Another suggestion would be to take it to a computer shop and have them completely wipe things clean and reinstall windows for you.
